Bethesda Wireless Internet Service Setup Guide

Downtown Bethesda Wireless Fidelity (Bethesda Wi-Fi) has been developed to offer free wireless Internet access to any citizen willing and able to light up a laptop equipped with an IEEE 802.11b or 11g wireless adapter. Wireless equipped laptops will be able to detect and connect to the Internet via active Hotspot access points in downtown Bethesda. The expected usage range from an access point is 300 feet in the urban area. The Bethesda Wi-Fi demonstration is a public/private effort between Montgomery County Government (MCG) and Atlantech Online, Inc. (AOI). The Montgomery County Government has deployed the wireless network services. Atlantech Online, Inc. has provided the Internet Service Provider (ISP) facilities. Web page-based information will be made over the wireless net as well as within the MCG and Atlantech Online home pages.
